31 March

interlude

I'm lying next to you now
smooth and smoke and silk.
dress the candle
speak soft with our tongues
in my circle of salt and pillows
our feet entwine
iris doorway two-way mirror
to the bright darkness of my bed
late night dream within a dream
am I the dreamer
are we ever what we seem
midnight in my timezone
I wonder what you see in your mind when you think of me
think of me now
lying next to you now
sink into me now
sink your teeth in my shoulder
slide off and soothe with a kiss
swirling and swishing
oil floating on water
surface tension
I drink you up
swish you around my mouth
and pull you through my teeth
oil and water do mix
desire emulsifies
draw your name on my skin
and love me with your eyes
light me
turn me slowly between your fingers
draw me deep like smoke
blow me out as a prayer
